Dr Emma Greatbatch

Emma is a HCPC registered Clinical Psychologist with 15 years experience in clinical practice, both in the NHS and in the private sector. She specialises in work with children, young people and families, working with a broad range of difficulties.

Emma has particular expertise in working with attachment difficulties, the impact of early trauma and abuse, and complex professional networks.

Emma provides therapeutic work based on a number of psychological models including, but not limited to, systemic approaches; cognitive behavioural approaches; narrative therapy; and specialist attachment informed approaches such as DDP (Dyadic Developmental Psychotherapy).


Emma provides consultation to a variety of professional groups, as well as to parents and families. Consultation could be a one off session, or a number of sessions; providing an opportunity to think through difficulties and to consider psychological ideas and ways of understanding these that might provide new approaches and solutions.


Emma is a skilled trainer, providing training across a broad range of topics relevant to the emotional well-being of children, young people and families. As well as specialist training on attachment and attachment informed approaches such as PACE (Dan Hughes).


Emma has expertise in providing a range of psychological assessments of children, young people, families and parents and is also experienced in providing these within the court arena.
